micro sample divider working principle

The micro sample divider operates on a weight-based principle. An integrated precision balance continuously monitors the material during division. Once the predefined weight of a sub-sample is reached, the system automatically redirects the flow to the next container.

This ensures that every portion is:
  • Accurately weighed according to the target value
  • Representative of the whole sample
  • Free from bias, since the split is controlled by weight rather than volume or time

By combining precise weighing with automated switching, the divider guarantees consistent and reproducible sub-samples for reliable laboratory analysis.

Control Panel

The digital control panel comes with a touchscreen interface, allows operators to set the desired sample weight, monitor the division process, and adjust settings as needed. The control system includes features such as data logging, alarms, and calibration to ensure ongoing accuracy.

How it works

The sample material is placed in the feeder, which begins to deliver the material in a controlled stream to the reject and sample collector. As the material flows, the weighing mechanism monitors the accumulating weight. Once the weight reaches the pre-set target, the system automatically switches the flow to the sample bottle or crucible and starts filling it.

The process repeats until the entire bulk sample is divided into portions that meet the required weights and sample amount. The precise control over weight ensures that each container holds a representative and accurate sample portion. The rest of the material will fall into the reject collector After the division process is complete, the sample can be analyzed individually or combined, depending on the specific requirements of the analysis.

Micro Sample Divider FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
