Pulverizer Ring Mills

High-precision laboratory and process equipment for measuring abrasion resistance, impact strength, hardness, and grindability according to Bond testing methods.

Pulverizer ring mills are precision grinding machines used to reduce material particle size for laboratory analysis, material characterization, quality control, and process optimization. These machines are designed for consistent, repeatable results on ores, minerals, chemicals, bulk solids and powders.

The LAARMANN ring mills are essential for all applications which demand the grinding of hard, brittle and fibrous material down to analytical end fineness. With a LAARMANN Ring Mill you put the sample together with a disc or a set of rings and roller in a bowl to bring it all together into 3-dimensional vibrations. Inside the bowls the sample will be ground and homogenized by high pressure, impact and friction rapidly down to analytical end fineness. Typically samples are ground to 90-95% < 75μm in approximately 3 minutes. Exact time and end fineness depends on the sample characteristics

Pulverizers Ring Mills FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

A pulverizer ring mill is a grinding machine that uses rotating rings and stationary anvils to crush and pulverize materials into fine particles — commonly used in analytical labs and process optimization.

Typical materials include ores, minerals, slags, ceramics, coal, soil, powders and various bulk solids requiring size reduction for testing or processing.

Ring mills combine rolling compression and impact forces for efficient grinding, offering more consistent particle distribution compared to hammer mills or ball mills for certain applications.

Pulverizers and ring mills are widely used in mineral testing labs, research institutes, quality control departments, mining operations and processing plants.

Important factors include material hardness, desired particle size, sample size requirements and throughput needs for your specific laboratory or industrial application.
