Automating an Installation for Plastic
This custom LAARMANN installation automates the processing of plastic material in order to reduce labor and improve workflow consistency. The operator only needs to load the vibratory feeder with plastic material, after which the system controls the feed rate and transfers the material through the next stages of the process.
The vibratory feeder regulates the feed capacity of the CM500 Cutting Mill, ensuring a controlled and consistent material flow. Inside the cutting mill, the plastic is reduced to a finer particle size suitable for sample division and downstream handling.
After size reduction, the fine material is discharged into the Rotary Sample Divider, where it is divided evenly into buckets. This creates a more efficient and repeatable process while reducing the amount of manual handling required from the operator.
How it works
The installation operates as a simple automated workflow for plastic processing and sample division. The operator feeds the plastic material into the vibratory feeder, which controls the material flow into the CM500 Cutting Mill. The cutting mill reduces the plastic to a finer size, after which the material falls directly into the Rotary Sample Divider. There, the sample is divided evenly into buckets, creating a controlled and repeatable process with less manual labor.
Feautures and Benefits
- Reduced labor through partial automation
- Controlled feed rate into the cutting mill
- Efficient size reduction of plastic material
- Even sample division into buckets
- More repeatable processing with less manual handling
