LMS100 Sampler for concentrated copper
This custom LAARMANN LMS100 sampling solution is designed to take representative samples from a concentrated copper stream containing gold-bearing material. Accurate sampling is essential for determining how much gold is supplied together with the concentrated copper before further thermal processing and laboratory analysis.
In this installation, the material is transported to the oven by a large bucket elevator. At selected intervals, individual buckets are sampled and approximately 6 kg of concentrated copper and gold-bearing particles is collected in a stainless steel sampling tube. With the top valve open, the material enters the sampling pipe, after which the valve is closed to isolate the sample from the main product stream. This operation is carried out with a pinch valve fitted with a heat-resistant polymer, allowing reliable sampling during operation.
To achieve a smooth and homogeneous discharge, the sampled material is released onto a vibratory feeder. The sampling time can be adjusted to obtain the required sample quantity. During sampling, the material is collected in 500 ml or 1000 ml bottles, which are then transported to the laboratory for further analysis.
How the unit works
The LMS100 sampling installation operates as a controlled process for collecting representative samples from concentrated copper containing gold-bearing material. Material is first transported by bucket elevator toward the oven process. At defined moments, a sample is taken from selected buckets and collected in a stainless steel tube with a capacity of about 6 kg. A valve system isolates the sample from the main stream, and a heat-resistant pinch valve allows the system to operate reliably under process conditions. The sample is then discharged onto a vibratory feeder to create a smooth and homogeneous flow before being collected in 500 ml or 1000 ml bottles for laboratory analysis. This setup supports more consistent sample collection and more reliable determination of gold content in the copper concentrate. It is possible to change the sampling time in order to get the desired amount of sample. During sampling the sample is collect in bottles of 1000 or 500 ml. These samples are than transported to the lab for further analysis.
